Haivng her cake and eating it too!

Here's Alli digging in to her birthday cupcake. It took her a minute to get the hang of it, but she figured it out.

She got a little frosting on her finger and was quite conserned

She really didn't want to get her hands dirty

I had to break it up so she would pick it up and eat it. She got a little carried away

Happy Birthday?

I cannot believe my little baby is one! Her birthday was yesterday and being the parents of the year, we planned our ward Christmas party on that day. So yesterday was really crazy with trying to get everything ready and set up for dinner for 150 people. Poor little Alli was such a trooper. It didn't leave us much time to celebrate so we're making it up to her by taking her to a place of my childhood, Chuck E Cheese. (Pictures to follow) So hopefully she can find it in her heart to forgive us.

My cousin, Ashley, told me about how you can make baby leggings out of women's socks. So I thought I'd give it a whirl. The brand "Baby Leggs" cost about $12-$15 a pair, these bad boys cost $3.00! And they were SO easy! Now Alli can wear her mini skirts all winter! (That's how I had to convince her)

24

Jeff and I were so excited to see the new 24 season. We even rented all of season 6 so we could catch up and remember what happened almost 2 years ago. So, with the new episode coming close to the end, we see a preview for season 7 coming in JANUARY! What?! What did we just watch? Well, apparently 24: Redemption is movie that will lead into season 7. But we have to wait 2 months. I don't know about you, but we're chapped!

Last year we went to California to visit my aunt. While we were there we got to visit the 24 set. My dad's aunt is the script supervisor. So we got to go to the 24 White House and meet the President and some other cast members. I really wanted to meet Chloe but the wasn't in the scene. And Jack was off too. But everyone we met were really nice. Here's a few pictures:

This is the new FBI headquarters. No more CTU :(

Here I am signing a very important bill in the Oval Office

My aunt Anne and a director

Since they were filming a scene in the Oval Office, we couldn't watch cause it was too small. So they set us up with headphones and monitors to watch all the takes. I think Jeff is actually sitting in Cherry Jones' (the President) seat.

Just disregard the boogers and the fact that it looks like she has a baby toupee

Although Alli has been throwing a few tantrums, she still is so sweet. I was folding laundry the other night and Alli would go around to each pile and throw them. So I put her in a bin with a book and she was golden. It bought me enough time to finish. But she was just so content to sit there and look at her book.

2 kids?

Claire giving Alli a hug

I had just woke Alli up. (She doesn't usually like to get up before 10am. Definitely her mother's daughter!) And her eyes are still puffy, it's hilarious

I babysat Alli's BFF Claire this morning. We had fun playing, watching Barney, and eating macaroni. What funny little girls! These two and Belle are the start of our Olympic gymnastic team. We're hoping to have our own team together by 2024! Thanks for coming over, Claire.

Alli, do you like staying at Grandma's?

Jeff went to Louisiana for his grandma's funeral. So we packed up and went to my parents. It's always a good time at Grandma's and Grandpa's.

Utterly Consumed...

Well my blogging has taken a severe hit this last month for one reason: couponing. It's true, I have join the highly lucrative world of clipping coupons. It's a cut-throat world, but I'm surviving. My spare time consists of collecting coupons, clipping coupons, and finding deals to use these coupons. You're probably laughing to yourself asking, how could that take up so much time. But it does. IE: today Albertson's is having their biggest sale of the year and I have been crunching numbers the last two days gearing up for this. It was not easy by any means and I think I've shorted my life spand a little, but it was worth it. Oh and here's a fun little nugget: Alli was excited for the sale too, so she got up at 3am. Thus, I was up at 3am. And she wouldn't go back to sleep. And she would not cry but scream anytime I tried to lay her back down. So we watch Baby Einstein until 6am then headed to Albertson's. Amber and I were there when they opened and we went to work.

The fruits of my labor:

The above items were on sale for approx $121 and I paid $37
(candles and holders not included. Compliments of Ashman Candles ;) right dad?)

Tutu cute!

My crafty cousin, Brittney, found a video on YouTube on how to make tutus. I watch the video and thought I'd give it a whirl. Especially with the sale going on at Joann's. Needless to say there were a few kinks, but it turned out for the most part. I chose to do pink and brown in case it needed to be displayed in her bedroom. It's pretty long on her. But I figure she can go into it.

Thank you, Fisher Price!

Tara got this little chair at one of her baby showers and at her last visit she put it together to see if Nash would like it. He wasn't really digging on it. He would try to sit on the top of the back rest and tip over. Alli, however, absolutely loved it. She's will sit in it for hours. It plays music and talks, and there's a little book she likes to flip through.
She has always been a really easy baby, but now parenting just got that much easier.

late 9 month picture

I already gave Alli's 9 month stats, but here's her 9 month pic. We took her and Nash's pictures together and we're having camera issues so I only got a couple good ones. This was my favorite.

Chelsey 1, Alli 0

Since Alli loves to play with hair so much, my mom gave her Tara's old extension. Gross huh? Well, me and Alli were just lounging around watch her shows and she was ripping my hair out. So I ever so carefully moved and put the wig in my place. At first she didn't notice and then once she did, she seemed like she liked it. I refuse to let her take her wig out in public, but at home it's a different story. What a little weirdo.

Good-bye, husband. Hello, football!

Well, it's that time of year again. Football season. Forget Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, etc this is, hands down, Jeff's favorite time of year. And it means several things at our house. Our weekends are gone. Fridays are spent at our beloved THS watching my brother, JD and his fellow T-wolves. And Saturday we are apart of Bronco's "Quest." I'm not quite clear on what exactly the "Quest" is. I have a few guesses. But I just wear the shirt. And then Sundays after church, Jeff reviews the game from the day before as well as all post game coverage from numerous channels. There's no sense fighting it. I've learned just to embrace it.

This clip is of my brother JD in his game a week ago. He's #5 the receiver. We're his #1 fans!

Living the dream...

What if you were to go to the doctor and he tells you, "Don't worry about nutrition, just calories." Well, for Alli that's the case. It'll all started when I took her to the doctor for a bad diaper rash two weeks ago. And at that time she weighed in at 13lbs 15oz. Which put her in the .8 percentile. Not 1%, .8%. The doctor then said the whole calories not nutrition thing. So for the last two weeks Alli has indulged in cupcakes with frosting, pizza, hamburgers, cheese bread, etc. And I really thought it was working. She was feeling a little more solid. I put her on the scale and it reads 14lbs .5 oz. so that put her in the .49%. The next two hours were spent going over Alli's diet, how much she drank, when she drank, what she ate, how much, how often, etc. Alli eats really good. And drinks really good. Other than her slim figure, she's healthy. They tested her blood and it looked fine. And he ruled out her being a primordial dwarf, Mike. She's in the 35% for height and 30% for her head.
So I'm just supposed to increase her food intake and add some oils and butter to it. He said we're shooting for the 5% at her year appointment. So here's Alli enjoying the doctors orders with a little chocolate pudding.

Here's some of her 9 month pastimes:

-She claps when you say patty cake.
-She enjoys headbutting, but who doesn't?
-Army crawling. She's fast especially when I am getting her ready to get in the tub. As soon as the diaper is off, she moves at warp speed.
-She loves rough-housing. She gets jealous when Grandpa Todd throws Nash around.
-And of course, eating. She doesn't seem to mind her new diet.

8 Months!

Alli is now a whopping 8 months old! Yet she is keeping her 4 month figure. It's summer, we don't blame her. She remains to be a delight. We have so much fun with her everyday. Here's a few little facts about Allibug:

-She LOVES food. Baby food yes, but more so adult food. You can't eat anything without her giving you the eye and chewing along with you.
-She growls. You heard me, growls! If you don't feed her fast enough or give her what she wants, you will here a low growl.
-She's all over the place. She army crawls and uses her feet for a little extra speed.
-She waves Bye-bye. She love whipping this out in sacrament meeting to win over the people around us.
-She loves playing patty cake with my dad. She's yet to master the clap herself. But my dad's says patty cake and she'll lock her hands together.

Update

Just a quick update with us:
Alli started crawing today! It's not graceful by any means, but she is moving. I'll try to post a short video of it cause I know you're all dying to see it...

Also, this last week Alli was just being a pill. She had a really bad night and the next morning her left lower eye lid was swollen. We all have puffy eyes in the morning, but it never went down. I called and went in to the doctor. Poor little bug had a double ear infection AND an eye infection. Mother of the year over here! After a day on the antibiotic, her eye was better and she seemed to be back to her chipper self.

Here she is ready to go to the doctor. Her eye doesn't look that bad, but it really was.

Here's Alli with her special prize for being such a good girl at the doctor. For those of you who know our little weirdo, she is CONSTANTLY playing with hair. She likes to suck her left thumb and play with hair with her right hand. It's getting old. I'm pretty sure I have a massive bald spot on the back of my head. So I bought her a Strawberry Shortcake doll with alot of hair. After one week the doll looks so nasty. I am always trying to brush out the knots (everyone makes fun of me) but it's useless.

Vanchiere Chick-a-dees

Here are all the Vanchiere grandkids in the patriotic best. It was quite the ordeal to get them all to look at the camera AND smile. But it turns out little Alli was the worst one. She looks terrified. It's her "stranger danger" face. But at least it's cute of the rest of them.

Mission Reunions, Family Reunions, and Family Parties

This last weekend Jeff's mission president came home. So we drove up to Idaho Falls to his homecoming. Then the next day we had a family reunion up by Boise so we backtracked a little and headed up there. It was quite the week, but we had fun catching up with friends and family.

For all the traveling we did, I rewarded Alli with what looks like a chicken nugget, but is really a baby cookie thing. She enjoyed it

Salt Lake Bees Game

Friday night Big Mike's company had a BBQ at the Bees game. The food was delicious and the game did not disappoint. We had a great time! Thanks Mountain West Small Business Finance!

Em and I are trying to force the friendship between Claire and Alli. It's going well so far
